"I can't thank you enough for selling me your filly, MCR Playboys Rum. You definitely understated this filly's ability. She's the talk of the stable. Only a three yr. old and she has as much experience as a 4 yr old. Most of our dealings were via computer or phone and I bought her sight unseen. My trainer doesn't believe I got this lucky. She changes leads, crosses over beautifully. Her gaits are smooth at a trot and lope. Just a little pressure on her belly and she stays at the speed you put her in. When I was grooming her I thought she was tied to a fence post, but the knot had slipped and I didn't realize it. I continued grooming and she never moved an inch. "We were so impressed with the knowledge, care, commitment and honesty of Missing Creek Ranch during our search and inevitable 2007 futurity prospect purchase from you; we felt it important to write a letter of "thanks" to you both.
On a weird gut feeling, something told me to search DreamHorse.com; and I did just that. BINGO! "Boon Cat" popped up on the site. I decided to e-mail you and request additional photos and a video of him; since driving to Colorado to look at this little stallion was out of the question at that time due to our travel schedule with our current futurity horse. Your prompt attention to our request was impressive; I viewed the video and photos and immediately liked what I saw. I went to my husband that night, handed him all the information and told him, "You need to call Mr. & Mrs. Pietrafeso and buy this horse." His reply, "Sight unseen, you’re that sure about this horse?" I told him, "Yes, don’t pass that horse up, he’s perfect!"
We have NEVER purchased a horse "sight unseen" before and don’t make a practice of it. You and Ron were so sure that we would be happy with our choice; you backed it up with your willingness to assist us pertaining to the "pre-purchase exam" which he passed with flying colors, transportation of "Boon Cat" from Colorado to Bakersfield, not to mention boarding him for three weeks after our purchase until he was able to be picked up.
Upon "Boon Cat’s" arrival and once he was backed down that horse transport ramp, we were elated and pleased with his arrival. He was happy, healthy, clean and sporting’ a new halter, lead rope and blanket all the while voicing his approval of his new home and "cutting horse" barn mates at Avalon Ranch.
Our elation has continued with his progress in training with Scott Weis of Ojai, Ca. "Boon Cat’s" introduction to a saddle was smooth sailing, no bucking and with no fight. Incredible! Currently, he is being ridden daily, introduced to arena and a cattle environment and loving every minute of it, like he’s been here before. The trainer says, "He’s very willing to learn and please; I can’t wait to put him on cattle".
I believe it’s very important to purchase an animal that comes from a great ranch, handled properly from the moment it hits the ground and broke with a gentle hand. These are the tools to make a great cutting horse. "Boon’s" well on his way and thanks to your beliefs in raising these animals the right way, he is a testament to our beliefs as well as yours.

Just a quick note to let you know that my mare that I bred to Just In Time To Dual in March 2006 had her foal. I couldn't be more pleased with this colt. He is absolutely beautiful and has great conformation and a really pretty head. He has been the most friendly colt I have had. To top it off, he is a Palomino! You all made the whole breeding process with my mare a pleasure, and please save room in Just In Time's stud book for my mare again this year and next. I have already sent my 2007 contract back to you for the Doc Bar mare, and I would also like to request another 2007 contract for a second mare I want to breed to him. Just a quick note to let you know how little Popcorn is doing, or "Poppy," as we sometimes call Miss Sunolena Dual, a beautiful 2006 palomino filly out of your nice palomino mare. We just couldn't be happier with her, she is beautiful, smart, athletic and kind. She is good in the herd and showing us her tremendous spirit through play with other horses. We are so excited to get her in the show ring and watch her with a cow!
