It's been a great 2009 so far at Missing Creek Ranch. Rap Cat, our 2002 stallion by High Brow Cat qualified for the NCHA Open World Championships again in 2008, and he did a great job at the World Finals in Amarillo ending up in the top 15 in the World for the second consecutive year.
Nicole Pietrafeso qualified for the NCHA Western National Championships in the Junior Youth. The Western National Championships were held in May of 2009. She not only made the finals, she ended up 3rd in the finals among stiff competition. She was riding her great little gelding raised by Missing Creek Ranch, Gun Slingers Mate, by Smart Mate out of Missin A Gun.
Gianna and Jessica started their first show season in 2009, and at 9 years of age, they ride better than most adults! And, to show you how versatile cutting horses are, all 3 girls ride in Little Britches Rodeo in barrel racing, pole bending, keyhole, flag race, and trail on their cutting horses. They trained their horses themselves, and they are very competitive.
Finally check out our 2009 foal crop (on the horses for sale page under weanlings). We had a great foal crop this year, and we look forward to 2010 and seeing the first Rap Cat foals!
Congratulations to all our customers on their new foals, and the new horses they bought from us! We love to hear about your accomplishments, so keep us updated!
Also, congratulations to Lucy Murphey of Montana. She purchased Shorty Royal Fletch from us as a yearling. He just won the Limited Open Montana Reining Horse Association 2009 futurity in Kalispell, Montana. Shorty Royal Fletch is the first foal out of Dockles Shorty (see broodmares) by Shorty Lena, she has NCHA Lifetime Earnings of over $51,000, and she is bred to Rap Cat for a 2010 foal.

Congratulations to Josh Barrett and his Just In Time To Dual 3 year old filly. They were Open Finalists in the Oklahoma Early Bird Futurity and the Oklahoma Select Breeders Futurity in August 2009.
Missing Creek Ranch is now a member of the Oklahoma Breeders Association. All horses raised on our ranch, or by any of our stallions are eligible for the Oklahoma Select Breeders Futurity, which pays $15,000 to the Open Champion and $7,500 to the Non-Pro Champion. What a great opportunity for Missing Creek Ranch customers! |
